Where do I find GVWR and base weight?
GVWR is printed on your registration or VIN/chassis plate. Base weight should come from a real weighbridge reading with fuel and your usual ready-to-drive setup. Paper “kerb weight” is often optimistic—use the scale.
Should I enter water as litres or kilograms?
Enter **litres** for water. The tool converts using **1 L ≈ 1 kg**. If you only carry half a tank, enter that number—don’t assume full unless you actually travel full.
What counts as “build & fixed furniture”?
Anything bolted in: cabinets, bed, batteries, inverter, heater, solar, racks. If it stays with the van, put it here. Loose items like boxes and bikes belong under **cargo**.
What if I am close to the limit but still legal?
Treat it as **borderline**. Small additions (extra water, groceries, tools) can push you overweight. Trim rarely used heavy items, move weight forward, or travel with less water.
Does this check axle limits too?
No. This is total weight only. To estimate front vs rear, use an **Axle Load Estimator** and verify at a weighbridge that can weigh axles separately.
